“In this historic moment, the most rational and reliable source for solutions to the challenges we face is science. That’s why we need to do everything we can to raise people’s awareness and understanding of scientists and the work that they do, especially in the realm of climate. And that’s precisely what Our Beautiful Planet does.”

In a recent letter, Dr. Steven Chu voiced his support for Kikim Media’s groundbreaking series of short documentaries profiling the work of scientists studying impacts of climate change in the United States. Dr. Chu is a co-recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics for his revolutionary work in developing methods to cool and trap atoms with laser light and later served as Secretary of Energy from 2009-2013 during the Obama administration. He currently teaches molecular and cellular physiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Dr. Chu will contribute to several upcoming episodes of Our Beautiful Planet his unique experience and expertise on a variety of subjects including advancements in battery/energy storage technology, sustainable sourcing of Lithium for electronics, and genetic engineering in agriculture.
