A Day Without Diabetes

Synopsis

It’s the untold scientific detective story of our time. Each year, 30,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, 15,000 of whom are children—and the numbers are growing at alarming rates. Once quite rare, it now afflicts as many as 3 million Americans. And so far, there’s no cure.

A Day Without Diabetes will introduce us to some of America’s leading diabetes researchers, report on the latest efforts to find a cure for the disease, and tell the stories of some remarkable people who live with it every day. The program will combine the drama of scientific exploration with the deeply inspiring stories of personal struggles and indelible triumphs in the face of adversity.
