World Health Partners

Synopsis

More than 1.3 billion people worldwide don’t have access to healthcare, with many living in rural areas far from hospitals. World Health Partners has developed innovative ways to extend the reach of modern medicine. Combining technology with entrepreneurship, they connect existing providers in rural areas to better-trained doctors in larger cities. They have also developed a supply chain for medicine, so that prescriptions can be filled in the village. The result is a bridge that helps span the urban-rural divide, bringing high-quality healthcare to remote parts of the world.
