Wired for Connection

“Lacking social connection is comparable to smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day.”

Julianne Holt-Lunstad

Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience, Brigham Young University

About

Wired for Connection reveals the latest discoveries from an exciting new realm of science that is forging ideas from biology, sociology, neuroscience and psychology. Blending compelling science, storytelling, and a grand evolutionary perspective, the film follows leading scientists collaborating across decades, continents, and disciplines exploring how and why human connection is essential to the physical and mental health of individuals and society: why we crave it, how it works, and the neurobiological and evolutionary science underpinning its vital importance in our lives. And at the same time, the project embarks on an intimate journey that reveals the precious value of connection as we travel through our lives.
